I was truly impressed with how progressive Shanghai has been. Still keeping to their own sets of values, beliefs and principles they were able to construct fantastic infastractures and a solid foundation for future businesses and investments.
It left me thinking and comparing Shanghai to our beloved and wheeeewww amazingly struggling country. What were Chinese people doing so different that in 10 years their growth has been this droolingly wild!!??
A difference I see is their faith and belief in their Government. Being under rigid rules and jurisdiction must genuinely instill in them that Communism is the be all and all of the country. I hope and will start going to church again, pray on bended knees and offer my life to single blessedness if our Dear Country would have to resort to such governance just to make things work, UH-UH nieeeuuu weeeiii!! =P
My mama even commented during the trip that it would be better if The Philippines were lead by a dictator. I told her that I'd fight for an individual's right to speak and make change if need be.
I kind of veered from the real influence of this shoots concept but it has something to do with all the drama I wrote above =)

 | dreiskee wrote on Apr 21, edited on Apr 21 Hi there. I love your work!! =) I'm just a passerby admiring yer photos :-) About China, their big population growth for the past decade is the key factor for their recent economic boom, and not so much because of their communist-capitalist government, or their well-in tact ancient traditions.
About government, show me one decent politician, and I'll show you a man who's either a great liar, a leader who's soon-to-be-assassinated, or soon-to-be-ousted. Hahaha. ^__^u Have you been to the slum areas in China? Poverty there is just as bad, man..All governments have graft and corruption. So that factor doesn't count.
About keeping tradition amidst globalization, I agree wiju! :) "Tayu rin naman nun ancient times pa tayu nag fo-formulate ng growth but it's extremely slow and painstakingly corrupt." However, there are countries like Bhutan where you'll see ancient traditions well-preserved despite globalization, and yet their economy is really bad. That's because they have a very small population.
So that leads us to the POPULATION factor.
In ten years, countries with the highest populations will dominate the international arena of economics.
Simply put, the bigger the population, the bigger the labor force, the bigger the market, the stronger the political voice. Everything becomes cheaper. Levels of competence are pushed to greater heights. Products of higher quality for cheaper costs are the fruits of innovation: Compete or perish. ;-)
I can go on and on about this matter over a cup of tea some time, haha! :) But at any rate, I just wanted to say I sooo love your work. If you need an assistant, I would like to volunteer when I get back to Manila ;-D
Cheers!! Galing galing mong stylist!! ^____^
Sincerely, Drei. |
 | Hi Drei!
Thanks for taking time and interest in my work. Feels great to see people other than my family view and like my work, haha. Thanks for the explicit explanation about Shanghai's economic progress. Not really what I was getting at for this concept (shoot) but still very much appreciated =).
Thanks again!
Cheers and take care! =) |
